More information:
1) Why you would be a great tutor?
I think the important role of a tutor is to encourage the learning of their students and support them
when they need help. Throughout my experience in teaching, I have been well organised and able to
adapt my teaching style to satisfy the needs of students. I encourage their learning and challenge
their ideas and provide guidance when they need help. I would provide fun and learning activities to
help students progress and help them to develop a positive attitude towards problem solving when
facing challenging questions.
2) Details of relevant work experience
I have helped students with their mathematics problems at high school and university while they were
studying for exams. I also planned lessons for the students making sure that they studied the
essential areas of the curriculum. I also worked as a senior technician at West Berkshire Council and
was involved in drainage and highway improvement schemes where I demonstrated valuable
communication, problem solving and management skills.
3) Details on your educational background
- MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources Management, Imperial College London, 2013-2014
- BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering (upper second class), Kingston University London, 2009-2013
- One year industrial placement at West Berkshire Council, Highways Department, 2011-2012
4) Hobbies and interest and personal ambitions
I am an avid sports woman and participate in many sporting activities including swimming, playing
basketball, golf and tennis. I also enjoy reading books and travelling. Following the MSc course I
would like to continue my studies through doing a PhD and pursue my interest in teaching.
